Painted Vintage Dresser with Bun Feet

This is the after photo of the dresser used in this makeover. It has been painted in a ligth toasted almond color, has updated oil-rubbed bronze ring pulls and raw wood bun feet.

Steps I took to create this look:

  1. Cleaned the entire piece with this degreaser followed by Dawn dish soap and water.
  2. Scuff sanded the entire piece using 220 grit sandpaper and my SurfPrep sander
  3. Repaired minor scratches with Bondo Glazing and Spot Putty.
  4. Removed the finish from the front bun feet using Stripwell QCS Finish Remover.
  5. Applied a paint wash to the legs using a mixture of Stone and Epiphany by Melange Paints.
  6. Applied a paint glaze created using Floetrol and Maduro Brown paint by Melange Paints. For both the paint wash and paint glaze I used leftovers from a recent dining room table project and more details can be found in this post.
  7. Primed body and drawers with white stain-blocking primer by Melange Paints.
  8. Painted body and drawers with Melange Paints in the color Saturday White.
  9. Sealed the entire piece (body, drawers, and legs) with General Finishes High-Performance Top Coat in Flat.
  10. Added peel-and-stick wallpaper for drawer liners.
  11. Added new hardware.
